CURIOUS KYLER EPISODE 1

This video is a project Ash Lee contributed to as a videographer for UStories, a social media platform. The series features Kyler, who explores everyday questions that many people are curious about, turning them into engaging visual content. The first episode focuses on how to survive an encounter with a wild bear in real life. In this project, Ash aimed to capture dynamic energy through thoughtful shot composition, clever use of angles and framing, and playful movement within natural environments.

CURIOUS KYLER EPISODE 2

This video is the second episode of Curious Kyler, in which Ash Lee participated as a videographer. The episode explores the unusual question: “What would a macaron made with pig’s blood taste like?” It showcases the step-by-step process of making the ‘blood macaron,’ followed by Kyler and several crew members tasting it and sharing their reactions. In this project, Ash aimed to blend the visual style of a cooking vlog with a comedic tone, highlighting Kyler’s quirky personality throughout the process.

CURIOUS KYLER EPISODE 3

This video is the third episode of Curious Kyler, with Ash Lee serving as the videographer. In this episode, Kyler conducts a real-life experiment to explore the destructive potential of the “Chinese Water Torture,” a phenomenon that once went viral on social media. The concept for this video was originally proposed by Ash, and the final piece went on to win “Best Video Content” at EPICS, a student media awards ceremony hosted by all student-run media platforms at the University of Utah. For this project, Ash focused on shot angles and camera movement to clearly capture the details of the experiment.

ON THE SPOT

This video was Ash Lee’s first project as a videography intern at UStories. Centered around a fun and widely popular Gen Z topic — “Which celebrities could I beat in a fight?” — the video also invited University of Utah students to share their favorite bands or artists. The content combined humor with pop culture while offering a glimpse into students’ musical tastes, making it both entertaining and relatable.
