E 404 E
This short film, created by Ash Lee, is a sci-fi thriller that follows the story of Jack, the main character, who begins experiencing strange events after putting on a mysterious pair of VR sunglasses. In this project, Ash Lee served as the director, videographer, screenwriter, casting director, sound recorder, video editor, and music editor. Through this film, Ash aimed to critique a society increasingly immersed in virtual realities—where people become so absorbed in their online identities that they begin to lose touch with the real world.
The title, E 404 E, carries layered meaning: “E 404” is a common internet error code indicating something that ‘does not exist,’ while the reversed “E” represents existence in mathematical terms. The palindrome structure of the title, which reads the same forwards and backwards, reflects the film’s central ambiguity—whether the protagonist truly exists or not. Ultimately, the film raises a question about our own existence: if we live solely through our virtual selves, do we truly exist in the real world?

This short film, created by Ash Lee, is a sci-fi thriller that follows the story of Danny Oh, who discovers a strange new feature after his phone updates. Ash served as a director, actor, screenwriter, and an editor of both video and sound for the film. Though the project was limited to a single camera and no dialogue, it captured the audience’s attention through its creative concept and suspenseful execution.
GROUP PROJECT
This short film, created by Ash Lee, was inspired by the Korean sketch comedy YouTube video “Group Assignment” by 너덜트 (Nerdult) and reimagines its concept through a new narrative. The film satirizes a growing social tendency in which individuals avoid taking initiative or responsibility in group settings. Ash took on multiple roles in the production — director, actor, screenwriter, videographer, video editor, and sound editor — successfully bringing the project to life.

This scene, created by Ash Lee, is inspired by A Star is Born and recreates a powerful emotional exchange between Jack (Bradley Cooper) and Ally (Lady Gaga) in a rehabilitation facility. In this project, Ash served as the director, video editor, and sound editor.
